Why This Work

My relationship with loss is both personal and ongoing. I experienced a significant loss as a young adult and have been navigating life after loss for over a decade. In that time, my grief has shifted and evolved, at times intensifying and at others softening, sometimes a source of strength and at other times a source of strain. I understand how loss can shape your sense of self, your relationships and your emotional world, not only in the immediate aftermath but in the ways it continues to unfold over time.

Grief can close your world down in ways that are hard to describe to people who have not been there. Through both lived and clinical experience, I believe the deepest healing happens in the presence of another person, in being genuinely seen and heard, and in having a space where nothing about your grief needs to be managed or explained away.

Training & Experience

I earned my undergraduate degree at the University of Washington and my Master of Social Work from Columbia University, where I developed a relational, client-centered approach grounded in curiosity, collaboration, and respect for each person's unique experience. My clinical training is grounded in evidence-based approaches to grief, loss, and relational work, including Prolonged Grief Disorder Therapy, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Across all of my work I bring a humanistic and trauma-informed lens, meaning the relationship between us is always central to what happens in the room.

I have supported clients through pivotal and often painful life moments across the lifespan. This includes working with students in a Title I New York City public high school navigating exclusion, trauma, burnout, and anxiety, as well as providing grief support and bereavement counseling to patients and families at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center during illness and end-of-life transitions. More recently, I have worked as a private practice therapist within a Seattle-based group practice, offering individual therapy and couples therapy to adults and teens navigating grief, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. These experiences continue to shape my belief that even in life’s hardest seasons, there is room for connection, meaning-making, and growth.
